Hover a language to find it on the map. Figures are approximate speaker estimates.
Speaker figures are rounded estimates compiled from census data and linguistic surveys; counts for minority languages in China and Russia vary widely between sources, and ethnic population often exceeds the number of fluent speakers. Diaspora communities — notably in South Korea, the United States, Japan, the Czech Republic, and Canada — are not shown as separate points. Classification follows the common five-branch view (Mongolian proper, Oirat–Kalmyk, Buryat, Dagur, Shirongolic/Gansu–Qinghai), with Moghol as an isolated outlier.
